Alvor yarn, which is 50% wool and 50% linen, harmoniously combines the best qualities of both fibers to create a yarn that is ideal for year-round use.
Garments made with alvor yarn are comfortable and warm thanks to the wool, while also being breezy and providing a greater capacity to absorb moisture from the body due to the characteristics of linen.
In the spring, Rosários 4 will release a new version of Alvor, called Alvor Print, which will be available in seven beautiful variegated colors. So, while we wait for Alvor Print to be released, we can plan what we're going to knit with it!
On Rosários 4's website, there are three knitting patterns designed for Alvor yarn. These designs were made in solid colors but could be adapted for Alvor Print.
First is the Alegria Sweater by designer Angela Quaresma, known on social media as Angela Pontos e Voltas. This sweater has a very original construction and can be worn with the neckline opening facing the front or the back.
With a yardage of 310 m per 100 g, Alvor yarn has excellent performance, and with just four skeins, you can knit the largest size of this garment. You can download this pattern for free on Rosários 4's website (in Portuguese), as well as on the designer's Ravelry page (in Spanish and English).
The Portico Cardigan, by designer Filipa Carneiro, is knitted from the bottom up, with an eye-catching lace stitch panel on the back and two narrower panels decorating the fronts. The instructions for the pattern are available in Portuguese, English, and Spanish on the designer's Ravelry page, and you can find size XXL in Portuguese for free on Rosários 4's website.
Last but not least, as an example of Alvor yarn's versatility, is a sock pattern. Designed by Filipa Carneiro, the Cordel Socks are knitted from the toe-up with 2.5 mm needles and a corded rib stitch pattern on the foot and leg. The instructions come with free tutorial videos. The Portuguese version is available on Rosários 4's website, and the Spanish and English versions are on the designer's Ravelry page.
The Cordel Socks are made with a single skein of Alvor yarn in a solid color, but this is a project where the Alvor Print yarn, will show its full splendor!
Naturally, as with any new yarn, there has to be an accompanying new pattern! And KnitLeaks already has access to the new project. For now, all we can say is that it’s a design by Filipa Carneiro, so stay tuned!
ALVOR PRINT: O NOVO FIO DA ROSÁRIOS 4

Na primavera, a Rosários 4 lançará uma nova versão do Alvor, chamada Alvor Print, que estará disponível em sete lindas cores matizadas. Então, enquanto esperamos pelo lançamento do Alvor Print, podemos planejar o que tricotaremos com ele!
No site da Rosários 4, podemos encontrar três modelos em tricot criados para o fio Alvor. Esses modelos foram tricotados em cores sólidas, mas podem ser adaptados para o Alvor Print.

O Casaco Pórtico, da designer Filipa Carneiro, é um modelo tricotado de baixo para cima, com um exuberante painel em ponto rendado nas costas e dois painéis mais estreitos a decorar as frentes. O modelo no tamanho XXL está disponível, de forma gratuita, no site da Rosários 4, e os restantes tamanhos, bem como as versões em Espanhol e Inglês, estão disponíveis no Ravelry da designer.
Por fim, como exemplo da resistência e versatilidade do fio Alvor, temos um modelo de meias. Da designer Filipa Carneiro, as Meias Cordel são tricotadas da ponta para o cós, com agulhas 2,5 mm, com o ponto cordel no pé e na perna. Esta receita é acompanhada com vídeos tutoriais e é gratuita. A versão em português está disponível no site da Rosários 4, e as versões em espanhol e inglês, no Ravelry da designer.
As Meias Cordel, são feitas com um único novelo do fio Alvor em uma cor sólida, mas é um projeto onde o fio Alvor Print, com sete novas cores matizadas irá brilhar!
